Will Jacks New T20 World No.1

Will Jacks New T20 World No.1

Will Jacks has become the first Englishman to top the Men’s T20 Player Index.

Jacks is now scoring as many ranking points for his bowling as he does for his batting, giving him the deserved top spot.

It also comes after other high-flyers including Glenn Maxwell, Rashid Khan and Wanindu Hasaranga had quiet IPL tournaments while attempting to defend big points from previous seasons.

Glenn Maxwell, who Jacks knocked off the top spot, is second in the rankings, with Hardik Pandya up three places to third.

Axar Patel and Nicholas Pooran make up the top five, both having climbed to career-high positions.

Two players currently out of favour with the England selectors, Phil Salt and Sam Curran, join their countryman Jacks back inside the top 10, while the biggest climber in the top 20 is Jasprit Bumrah – up a massive 73 places to 17th.

Orange Cap winner Sai Sudharsan (759 runs at a strike rate of 156.2) is up 99 places and into the top 100 for the first time at 66th, while Purple Cap winner Prasidh Krishna climbs over 600 places to 303rd.

Fourteen-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi is a new entry at 522nd, having played only seven matches, but the highest new entry is Punjab Kings’ Priyansh Arya at 344rd.

Top PSL run scorer Sahibzada Farhan is another into the top 500 for the first time, climbing over 300 places to 329th.

The Index is the only platform that takes into account performances in all international and domestic T20 cricket, with more than 70 nationalities represented in the Top 1000.
