04 Dec Hasaranga hangs on at top of T20 World Rankings
The top three players from across the world have consolidated their places at the top in the latest Men’s T20 Player Index.
Wanindu Hasaranga, Will Jacks and Rashid Khan remain in positions one, two and three respectively in the latest standings – places they have held since May.
The fresh results mean Hasaranga has now spent two months shy of two years at number one, barring a blip from June to September of last year when Khan pushed him into second.
Jacks has now held his current spot since April, while Khan – an ever present in the top five since May 2018 – took third place the following month.
Just five points separate the top three, showing how tight competition is for the coveted number one spot.
Glenn Maxwell, Axar Patel and Sikandar Raza have all moved up a place in the top 10, to fourth, fifth and ninth respectively in the fresh table. Patel’s ranking is a career high for the Indian.
New and returning entries include Hardik Pandya, who has moved from 14th to sixth, Nicholas Pooran, who has jumped from 17th to ninth, and Marcus Stoinis, who has leapt from 16th to 10th.
Raza’s and Pooran’s ratings are also career bests.
Jos Buttler, who has dropped from fourth to seventh, completes the top 10.
The biggest climber in the top 20 is Matt Short, up from 37th to 16th, while other big movers into the top 50 include Marco Jansen (up 84 places to 26th) and Adam Zampa (up 92 places to 40th).
This update includes the World Cup, the Blast, the Hundred, the CPL, the Lanka League, MLC and all the latest internationals.
The Index is the only platform that takes into account performances in all international and domestic T20 cricket, with more than 70 nationalities represented in the Top 1000.
